And she’s gorgeous. The new work-in-progress pictures posted on the Blizzard blog by Chris Robinson, senior art director for World of Warcraft, put even the Blood Elves to shame.
New character models for each of the game’s races are going to debut for Warlords of Draenor, and while the team has been working on each of them, Robinson wrote that the female Orc received extra polish along the way.
Lead animator Steve Aguilar elaborated on her facelift:
“The original female Orc’s facial expression is pretty much a blank stare, which sadly doesn’t convey much life or personality. We wanted to give her more of an edge so she would project a confident ‘Don’t mess with me!’ attitude. Now that these new high-definition models have a facial rig attached, the animators can bring to life the personality that has been so sorely missing. She now looks and feels more like you’d expect an Orc to.”
Looks like it might be time to reroll! You can apparently catch glimpses of her in the Warlords of Draenor announcement trailer, too.
