World of Tanks get new Confrontation gameplay mode in latest update

Wargaming’s update 8.11 for World of Tanks will be going live in Asia tomorrow, with South Korea receiving the update just one day later on February 13, 2014.

The new patch adds the Confrontation game mode, which is an experimental combat mode that, according to a press release sent today, “groups of players with vehicles from a specific nation into a team that faces off against a comparable opposing squad with vehicles from a different nation”.

This mode has yet to be balanced and is unfortunately not available for the Japanese and Chinese tank trees. However it does add an interesting angle to the otherwise ordinary player-vs-player combat of World of Tanks. A virtual World War anyone?

The update will also add a new winter battle arena based in Europe called Windstorm and reworked Ruinberg and Himmelsdorf maps. It is already live in Europe and Russia.
