Win up to S$1,750 in cash at Asiasoft’s inaugural Strife Rookie Tournament
It has been nearly a year of absolutely inactivity, but Asiasoft is finally firing Strife’s engine up again.
S2 Games’ latest MOBA offering will have an inaugural Rookie Tournament in Singapore later this month, where 16 teams of five will vie for a prize pot of S$1,750 (about $1,393) in cash and gaming peripherals from Alienware and Steelseries.
The single-elimination format Strife Rookie Tournament will take place at Campus Game Fest on June 27 to 29, and feature a best-of-one series of matches all the way to the semi-finals, after which the format will switch to best-of-three series. Matches will run from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. daily.
(See: Are you good enough to be one of Singapore’s Elite Four?)
Registration has just opened, and will close on June 25, 2014, but as with everything we announce, you’d best get to it quickly, because only the first sixteen teams can participate. Register here for free, and make sure you have a Strife account that’s ready to go. And of course, also make sure that you’ll be in Singapore, or at least, will be able to fly down to Singapore, because this is an offline tournament. There are more detailed rules here.
Asiasoft recently tied up with bubble tea maker Gong Cha to have Strife bubble tea cup covers, presumably as a precursor to the rookie tournament. While Strife is yet another game wading into an oversaturated MOBA market, it was a fun game and it’s nice to see it finally come back into the limelight.
Please tell me you remember what Strife is:
