The best gaming deals you can find at Singapore’s PC Show 2014

Heading down to the PC Show 2014 this weekend? We Singaporeans might be completely exhausted by the endless number of IT fairs and PC shows we get every year, but they are worth going for, if you’re looking for a deal. This time round, Games in Asia walked the floor just before it opened to the public to scout out the best gaming deals for our readers in Singapore.

Stuff Magazine’s Tech Living Room

We poor unfortunate souls in Asia still don’t have local Xbox One sets out in stores, but Stuff Magazine has decided to do a good turn by setting out two Xbox One units running Fifa 14 and Titanfall. They’re also open for free play. Hooray! You can also head on down to the magazine’s Tech Living Room booth to check out a Google Glass unit, and learn more about how it works. It’s not gaming, but it’s pretty nifty!

More importantly for our fellow gamers, Stuff Magazine Singapore is also running a small contest. Speed through Messi’s training session in Fifa 14 and you might just get to play a game of Fifa on the world’s largest HD LCD screen at Suntec City. Yes, that’s the one on the outside of the convention centre! Can you imagine playing Fifa 14 on that? Only the top sixteen fastest players will qualify for this chance, set to happen later in the year.

Aftershock PC

Logitech is pushing its Science Wins series of gaming gear really hard with these discounts:

• Free G430 headset worth S$114 (or $91) when you buy a gaming keyboard and gaming mouse.
• Freebies with nearly all purchases
• 30 percent off gaming headsets with purchase of any Logitech gaming mouse or keyboard.

Alienware

Students, take note! There’s a special student discount on the Alienware 17 that gives you 20 percent off the usual price. The 17 inch laptop running an i7 processor with 8GB of ram and a 2GB Nvidia GTX 860M GPU costs just S$2639 (about $2,100), down from S$3,299 (about $2,626). You just need to produce a valid student pass to qualify for the deal.

Funz Centre

Since we don’t have the Xbox One available yet, why not save with deals on Xbox 360 consoles from Funz Centre? A 250GB Xbox that comes with Titanfall, Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, and Darksiders II as well as three months of Xbox Gold Live subscription is just S$399 ($318). A 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect with Kinect Adventures and Dance Central 3 and a month’s worth of Xbox Gold Live subscription is going for the same price.

There are also discounts of up to 30 percent off on various earphone brands as well as on the Moga controllers. Finally, there are also some pretty decent deals on current games for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Xbox 360, as well as the occasional mega discount on old Nintendo DS games.

The PC Show 2014 has already started, but most of these deals are good until the end of the weekend. This particular exhibition spans just two halls, so you definitely won’t have any trouble finding the booths. Just keep your eyes peeled for logos and signage!
