Genesia Ventures counts Mizuho Bank, Mizuho Capital, TFHD Open Innovation Program, and Mitsui Leasing as major investors in its latest fundraising.

The second fund will focus on seed-stage startups in Japan and Southeast Asia. The firm recently led a seed funding round for Vietnam-based food services procurement platform Kamereo.

Industry veteran Takahiro Suzuki, who is based in Indonesia, has been appointed as a general partner for the second fund. A representative office in Jakarta is also reportedly underway.

Suzuki previously served as general manager at CyberAgent Ventures Indonesia.
