I’ve always wondered about the purity of search results and how much of it is tainted by companies paying money for their sites to appear frequently on the top of our search results and thus skewing our page-ranking system. It’s not that we don’t like their companies or think that those companies who need to pay to get their page-ranks up must necessarily be lousy companies who must resort to such tactics to get themselves heard on the web, but rather, wouldn’t it be better if we could get a more accurate feel of how the web is intralinking? We want to know what our fellow users out there like and read more often and not which companies have the money to pay to up their sites’ popularity.
Having this unethical Search Engine Optimization method is a travesty of justice to me. We want a democratic system of site popularity rankings and not one where facades take over. Be a real entrepreneur! Utilize creative yet ethical ways to improve your site ranking – like being relevant and interesting to internet users. Good luck.
