Hello reader,
To me, B2B always felt like a maze of approvals to win a new client. B2C seems more straightforward: building something for millions of people to use.
But in reality, B2C markets are relentless, especially in AI. Winning users often means aggressive spending, and that’s not feasible for most startups.
On the other hand, businesses are racing to integrate AI into their operations. A few big wins can keep a B2B-focused AI firm running.
That’s why we dug into the top-funded enterprise AI companies across Asia to see where the sector is heading.
Some names in today’s first Top Story show that excelling in a niche can win 9-digit funding, like Japan-based LegalOn, which targets legal operations, or Korea’s Upstage, which processes insurance documents.
In our second Top Story, my colleague Elyssa Lopez looks into the latest financials of Singapore-based crypto exchange Coinhako. While the platform tripled revenue in 2024, it also posted an 8x increase in losses.
Its CEO attributes the losses to investments into its institutional segment. Will Coinhako’s focus on larger clients over their retail counterparts give it the same success as the companies in our enterprise AI list?
