Hello readers,
A few investors I spoke to last year pointed out that while Southeast Asia’s startups were on an upward trajectory, the region suffered from a lack of successful exits that might give investors a roadmap for the future of the local startup scene.
Well, one year on, things are beginning to change: We’ve seen firms like Bukalapak and Razer have successful on stock exchanges listings. Regional super app Grab has also joined the club, making its debut on the Nasdaq on Thursday night.
Indeed, all eyes are on Grab and how it’ll perform in public markets in the weeks to come. The firm’s success hinges on factors, including its financial health (which our analyst Simon Huang dove into and market perception, among other things.

However, one thing’s for sure – a new age for Southeast Asia’s tech firms is on the horizon, and the future looks exciting.
