Sales this week in Japan were abysmally low. The top ten saw games selling fewer copies than last week, yet rising up on the chart. This last week’s sales were 45% lower than the previous week’s, and on top of that, 20,000 fewer consoles were sold. Not a strong week for anyone.
The biggest shock might just be how poorly Soul Sacrifice Delta did in its opening week. Being the successor to the fifth most downloaded game on the Vita, expectations were high for Soul Sacrifice Delta to have a strong opening week. Sure, it took the number one spot on this week’s sales list, but 47,101 is not all that strong of a number. On a typical week, this number would have gotten the game on the fifth spot. Not terrible, but certainly not a good start.
Another point of interest on this list is that it only contains one Playstation 4 game: Knack. It has only been two weeks since the PS4’s launch in Japan, and already the 3DS has taken back the top ten with games that have been around for months. And with the release of Pokemon Battle Trozei, I can’t imagine next week will be any different.
