The BEWSD (Belgian Early Warning System on Drugs) today published an early warning for “Nintendo,” a pill with exceptionally high MDMA content. For those of you who are sweet and innocent, MDMA is the stuff in ecstasy that makes you feel euphoric, however the amounts in Nintendo are high enough to prove deadly. Especially if taken by youngsters.
Whilst I have no ill feeling towards responsible drug use, I do have to question the idiot who decided that stamping the name of a game console on a potentially lethal pill was a good idea. Let’s hope little Timmy doesn’t thinks this is some Dr. Mario themed candy.

The affects of the drug are described in a first hand account, but alas no one reported seeing Princess Peach or any other Nintendo critters which I would personally find quite disappointing.
The origins of the drug are still something of a mystery, but some people are suggesting China may be the source. So any Laowai reading this should be careful when offered some cheap “Nintendo” on the streets of Shanghai.
Others have suggested that Nintendo’s new business strategy may be more unorthodox than expected!
