Berry Kitchen, an online catering service in Indonesia, announced today that it received seed funding in the amount of IDR 500 million ($43,700) from ANGIN, the female-oriented angel network fund run by Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia (GEPI). Berry Kitchen offers daily catering services as well as bentos for people to order online.

The head of Berry Kitchen is former Groupon Indonesia team member Cynthia Tenggara. She has received guidance from Groupon Indonesia co-founders Ferry Tenka and Jason Lamuda in the new venture. ANGIN believes that Berry Kitchen’s strong management team as well as its unique value proposition will help it see strong traction. Indeed, there aren’t a lot of online catering services popping up yet in Indonesia. Some of Berry Kitchen’s current clients are XM Gravity, BerryBenka, Bilna, Traveloka, MalesBanget, and Groupon.

Besides funding, ANGIN wants to provide capacity building for the startups it invests in. The backers behind ANGIN are powerful women in various industries including managing director of conglomerate Sintesa Group Shinta Kamdani, Vice president of business development in Blue Bird Group Noni Purnomo, and Bali International Flight Academy founder Tience Sumartini.
