Parenting app Parentlane has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding led by several individual investors. Participants include former Flipkart president Sujeet Kumar, TaxiforSure founder Aprameya Radhakrishna, Commonfloor co-founder and CEO Sumit Jain, Fisdom co-founder Subramanya Venkat, NuVentures managing partner Venk, Ravi Machani, Hitesh Gupta, Rohit Choudhary, and others.
Founded by Vijay Anand, and IIT Delhi graduate and Samsung employee Neeraj Kumar Gupta, Parentlane is a social portal of parents and experts who discuss and advise on the development of children from birth to the age of eight. The app uses data science and machine learning to map child development, so it also helps parents keep track of their own children’s growth.
“Our plans for 2016 include investments in product development and technology to deliver personalized value and experience to the Parentlane community in an engaging platform,” said Vijay in a statement.
Parentlane was founded this year and incubated at Accel Partners Launchpad in Bangalore. Other child development tracking apps include Babyberry and MyChild. Babygogo and [Tinystep(http://www.tinystep.in/home) are social platforms for parents to ask each other questions about child growth and development.
SmartQ

Food ordering app SmartQ has secured US$250,000 in pre-series A funding led by YourNest Angel Fund. Former BabyOye CEO Vijay Jumani also participated in the found.
SmartQ’s schtick is helping people avoid long food court lines in corporate parks and movie theaters, though it has plans to expand into amusement parks and retail. Users can sign in, and after the app determines their location, they can order dine-in or takeout from different restaurants. Through partnerships with PayUMoney and Paytm, it offers cashless transactions for clients, and it receives a commission for every order placed. Bottle Lab Technologies owns the startup.
Founded by IIM-Calcutta graduate Krishna Wage and Abhishek Ashok, alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in December 2014, SmartQ is currently active in Bangalore. It claims to have 45,000 users on its Android app and 1,800 transactions daily. Krishna and Abhishek have also founded an advertising company called ADding VALUE.
Similar app Zeppery, which allowed pre-orders at restaurants, closed down just a few days ago.
