The Thai fighting game community will be hosting the Thaiger Uppercut Championship 2013 this weekend (November 23 thru 24, 2013) at the Neolution Stadium in Bangkok. And no, we did not misspell the event’s name.
A play on one of Street Fighter’s characters Sagat’s signature moves and the community’s nationality, the Thaiger Uppercut will see a slew of talented players for its single and team Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition tournaments.
A list on the thaigeruppercut.com forums has confirmed the attendance of big names like Infiltration, Sako, Haitani, Chuan, Humanbomb, DM MCZ Xian and DM MCZ Gackt, among others.
The double elimination tournament will be streamed on Twitch and will feature a cash prize pool of about $1,108 for the singles tournament, and $1,424 for the team tournament.
The first matches kick off at 1:00pm (GMT +7) on Saturday, November 23, 2013.
