Telkomsel’s investment arm appoints former Waze country head as CEO

Telkomsel Mitra Inovasi (TMI), the investment arm of Indonesia-based telco company Telkomsel, has appointed Marlin R Siahaan as its new chief executive.

Experience:

• Siahaan previously served as Waze’s country manager for Indonesia. She has 21 years of experience in media, telecommunications, and the digital sector and has worked for prominent companies such as Telkomsel and Yahoo.
• She replaces Andi Kristianto, who is now Telkomsel’s senior vice president of corporate strategy and strategic investment.

• Founded in May 2019, TMI has invested in nine companies, such as buy now, pay later startup Kredivo, healthtech platform Halodoc, agritech firm Tanihub, and logistics service SiCepat.
• According to the company, it is looking to invest in five sectors: commerce and advertising, media and entertainment, connected devices and hardware, data and analytics, and infrastructure and networks.
