VC firm Antler raises $300m, to invest in up to series C round

Singapore-based Antler said that it has raised more than US$300 million to date and is now planning to go beyond early-stage investments to include up to series C rounds. Investors in the venture capital firm’s funds include Schroders, Vækstfonden, and Phoenix Group.

Antler has added partners Naman Budhdeo, Erik Jonsson, Jiho Kang, and Subir Lohani to lead its new Canada, Vietnam, Korea, and Indonesia teams, respectively. Former SoftBank vice president Teddy Himler has joined the firm as a partner as well.

To oversee its ongoing investments, the VC firm said it has put together a team led by Lazada co-founder Martell Hardenberg, former Venturra Capital managing partner Stefan Jung, and MIT researcher Navi Singh, among others.

Founded in 2017, Antler has invested in more than 350 companies globally across over 30 different industries. Over 70 nationalities are represented in these portfolio companies, and 40% of them have at least one female co-founder.

The firm also has a network of more than 600 expert advisors and an online platform for resources. It also facilitates introductions to global investors and offers guidance on entering new markets.

Antler said that the capital raised will help its portfolio companies with follow-on investment for further growth and scale.

“We continue to provide support for our founders from the earliest stages and are thrilled to be able to continue investing in them as they grow,” Antler CEO and founder Magnus Grimeland said in a statement.
