Called Good Protein Fund I, investors in the new investment vehicle include Vijay Goradia, the founder and chairman of Vinmar International; Harris Komishane, former head of finance and strategy for Fidelity Investments; and Bala Vissa, INSEAD professor of entrepreneurship.

Through the fund, Good Startup has invested in various firms that offer plant-based or food-technology alternatives to animal protein. These include Eat Just, The EVERY Company, SuperMeat, VitroLabs, and TurtleTree.

Good Startup also plans to help companies in its portfolio with intellectual property protection, organization design, and hiring and fundraising strategies.

Founded last year, the VC firm has invested in 21 out of its target of 35 companies.
