Hello reader,
My wife and I just got a mini dachshund puppy, and holy moley, it’s been one of the most stressful times in my life.
We’ve always wanted a dog and finally pulled the trigger. Since then, we’ve spent the past couple weeks worrying about his vaccinations, potty training, and loss of appetite (which he’s recovered from, thankfully).
We’ve already spent a fair sum on veterinarian bills and transportation expenses (GrabPet ain’t cheap), not to mention other paraphernalia like treats and toys.
You could say that we’re investing a lot in our little Baxter. And in this amazing, seamless segue, today’s premium article is all about the VCs investing the most in Israel’s startups.
Today we look at:
- The investors closing the most deals in Israel
- The US$30 million series B round of ex-Foodpanda CEO’s ecommerce startup
- Other newsy highlights such as the US$8.5 million seed round of a sales intelligence platform and the launch of Binance’s global law enforcement training program

Israel isn’t the largest market, but that’s not stopping VCs from showing the money. How many deals have the most active investors in Israeli startups closed in the last 24 months? The answer might surprise you.
- Good friends: The majority of the investors on our list are either based in the US or Israel itself. That said, funds are also coming in from firms based in Singapore, the UK, and Japan, among others.
- Just how many are there? The list has 100 investors on it, by the way. Could you name 20 right off the bat?
- Not behind the eight ball: Lightspeed Venture Partners and Hanaco Ventures, which landed on the ninth and 10th spot, respectively – have each closed eight deals in Israel over the past 24 months. Can you guess how many were sealed by the VC at the head of the list?
