Indonesia’s LinkAja ‘reorganizing resources’ amid layoff rumors
Indonesian fintech app LinkAja has confirmed that it’s reorganizing its resources following local media reports saying the company had laid off some of its employees.
Reka Sadewo, the head of LinkAja’s corporate secretary group, said the company is making several significant changes regarding its business focus and objectives.

“This of course will also have several impacts on the company’s operations, one of which is the reorganization of human resources,” Sadewo said in a written statement. The executive added that the changes are made to make sure the company can grow optimally with an efficient pillar of human resources and that they are following the government’s rules and regulations.
However, the fintech firm did not specify how many people or which departments are affected by the reorganization.

LinkAja is an e-wallet service from Telkomsel and state-run organizations. It says that it has 68 million active users and is operating in 680 traditional markets in Indonesia as of last year.
After raising up to US$100 million in a series B round led by Grab, LinkAja acquired peer-to-peer lending startup iGrow.
Previously, local edtech firm Zenius also announced in the company’s townhall that it is laying off over 200 employees, especially those in the content team, as it deals with the global economic downturn.
