Valve's Dota 2 documentary Free To Play will go public in three weeks

Valve’s much-awaited Dota 2 documentary is finally going to be available to the public. It’s happening, people. It’s really happening.

Earlier today, a post on Cyborgmatt’s official Facebookpage shared a link to a Free To Play‘s dedicated home page with a timer that, at the time of writing, states that Free To Play will be coming in more or less 27 days along with other information. Valve has also released this new trailer for the documentary.

Free To Play is a documentary that follows the life of three players from three different continents —Natus Vincere’s charismatic Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin from Ukraine, now retired Benedict ‘hyhy’ Lim from Singapore, and Dota veteran Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis from the United States — as they prepare and compete in the first ever The International 2011 for the million dollar prize.

The documentary aims to give people an idea of what these players go through to prepare for the biggest Dota 2 tournament of them all. The documentary was first announced during The International 2012, but took a full year before it was made viewable exclusively to the attendees of The International 2013, and now finally to the public half a year later.

The documentary will have a premiere showing on March 18, 2014 at the The Castro Theatre in San Francisco, California. It will also be viewable online for free via Steam on March 19, 2014. Valve will also be releasing the Free to Play pack, which will include the following Dota 2 in-game items:
