Unlimint partners with Alipay+ to extend consumer reach

Fintech company Unlimint has announced a partnership with Chinese online payments major Alipay+.

The London-based firm offers businesses a multi-currency financial interface. Its merchants hail from a number of industries including ecommerce, gaming, SaaS, and e-learning. The partnership will allow these businesses to access Alipay’s e-wallets and bank apps in Asia, which will streamline payment processes.

Alipay+ supports a variety of digital payment methods such as Klarna in Europe, GCash in the Philippines, Kakao Pay in South Korea, and Alipay in China. Across its platforms, Alipay+ has access to over a billion customers.

The volume of non-cash transactions in Asia Pacific is expected to exceed one trillion by 2025, with mobile wallet use doubling between 2021 to 2025. Globally, the fintech market is expected to reach US$332.5 billion by 2028 at a compound annual growth rate of 19.8%.

Unlimint was founded in 2009 by Kirill Evstratov, and it was formerly known as Cardpay before rebranding in 2020. Meanwhile, Alipay+ was introduced in 2020 by Ant Group chair and CEO Eric Jing.
