Twitter CEO may get $42m if axed after Musk deal

Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s CEO, might get a US$42 million payout if he gets the boot within 12 months, reported The Economic Times, citing research firm Equilar.

The development comes after Elon Musk’s US$44 billion takeover offer was accepted by the social media platform, a move that will turn the company private after it went public in 2013.

The estimate for Agrawal’s payout is based on his annual salary and “accelerated vesting of all equity awards,” The Economic Times quoted an Equilar representative as saying.

Agrawal was Twitter’s tech boss before he was appointed to the company’s top executive spot in November last year. He joined the firm in 2011.
