Play Your Sport, which helps users discover sports and fitness centers nearby, has raised an undisclosed amount of pre-series A funding from a group of investors including former Evalueserve chief operating officer Ashish Gupta.

In January last year, the startup raised US$16,000 in seed funding from Hyderabad Angels.

Founded by Supriya Mamgain and Varoon Kapoor, Play Your Sport also connects those with an interest in sports and helps them follow their favorite teams. The company is present in Delhi and Mumbai and has about 2,000 venues listed on the portal. The venues pay a membership fee to be featured on the app.

Playo also connects amateur sports players with venues and potential teammates. GoSporto, BookMySports, OyePlay, and Athletto let users book venues for play.

Motomatix

Mumbai-based Motomatix, a startup that analyzes Indians’ driving behavior and suggests improvement measures, has received a US$200,000 seed funding investment from Venture Catalysts, led by Arth India Ventures partner Vikram Lakhotia and Anirudh Damani, managing director of Standard Transport Corporation.

The startup began as an on-demand driver service that had a metric to help train and track its drivers. From there, it moved into analyzing and suggesting improvements for drivers’ behavior.

Motomatix, formerly known as Vahanalytics, was launched this year by Shivalik Sen, Arun Gandhi, Nikhil Tavora and Someshwar Dash. Motomatix is owned by Urbtranz Technologies, which also operates Driven, which was acquired by DriversKart at the beginning of the month.
