In the first phase of the year-long partnership, Oyo Jiudian, Oyo’s Chinese subsidiary, will list its standardized accommodations on the Meituan Hotels platform. The move will help Oyo Jiudian drive consumer traffic, data operations, and brand promotion.
“We are proactively delivering on China’s focus on reforming the supply sector and are always open to partner with like-minded and customer-focused organizations that are contributing to the development of the travel and hospitality industry,” said Sam Shih, chief operating officer for Oyo China.
The partnership came just days after rumors of Oyo laying off more than 1,000 employees in China surfaced. The startup denied the rumors, although it did confirm to Tech in Asia that some people were fired.
