Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe – Singapore’s bastion of fighting games – is back in business!

Yup, you read that right. The little blue console rental corner store that birthed the local Street Fighter legend Ho Kun Xian (DM MCZ Xian) is back in business.

Xian himself personally announced the shop’s reopening on the local fighting game community’s Facebook group.

Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe had closed down early last month owing to financial issues. Each month saw S$5,000 ($3,951.60) worth of losses, making it impossible for the business to continue being profitable. It was then under different management.

At the newly re-opened shop, Xian told Games in Asia that he had now fully taken over its management, and that he would be bearing the running costs from here on. He also said that he would be travelling much less compared to this soon-to-be past year, and hoped to be able to spend more time with customers. After all, it’s not every day you get to play with an EVO Street Fighter world champion.

Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe now opens from 2:00pm and closes at 12:00am daily, with operating hours extending to 3:00am every Friday and Saturday. It is located just beside the escalators on the second floor of Park Lane Mall, at 35 Selegie Road in Singapore. Xian is at the shop from 2:00pm to 9:00pm daily.
