Simak Online operates a learning progress monitoring platform for use by schools, teachers, and parents. Through its platform, the company also allows educational institutions to arrange teaching and learning routines and track student and teacher attendance, among others.

The company said it has worked with 410 public high schools and middle schools in Jakarta in the past six months, generating about US$23,000 in revenue. And since August 2019, the company claims it has served over 300,000 students who have completed around 200,000 exams on its platform.

It looks to tally about 15,000 partner schools and generate US$32 million in revenue by 2023.

Here are the other finalists of the Arena pitch battle 2019, powered by Surge:

Wisible

Coming in second place and taking home US$2,000 was Thai customer relationship management tool Wisible.

Through its platform, the company integrates multiple customer engagement channels and generates sales insights to help businesses make better decisions and generate better deals. It also has a mobile assistant integrated into the Line messaging app where users can add deals, take notes, assign tasks, and view their dashboard.

It is currently offering a subscription-based model and has 350 enterprise users and 50 other paying users. Wisible also said it is currently raising a US$600,000 seed round.

Halofina

Halofina, an Indonesian robo-advisory firm catered to millennials, bagged the third-place prize of US$1,000.

Its platform offers users investment recommendations and portfolio tracking services. It also offers investment products such as mutual fund investments and peer-to-peer lending registered at the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK) and Dewan Syariah Nasional.

With 11,000 users as of August – 1,000 of them being active investors – Halofina is looking to launch a subscription service soon, where users can receive more in-depth financial advice. The firm is in the process of closing its pre-series A round.

Meiro

Meiro is a self-funded enterprise business-to-business startup in Singapore that launched in January 2019.

It claims to be the only customer data platform that supports any cloud service, such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud, in all parts of the world. It collects, cleanses, consolidates, and prepares its users’ customer data into a profile, combining several behavioral touch points.
