Intellect, a mental health startup based in Singapore, has raised a strategic funding round from IHH Healthcare. The deal amount was not disclosed.
As part of this round, IHH will work with Intellect to develop digital mental health programs for the group’s patients, corporate clients, and staff. Intellect says it has already started rolling out services to Gleneagles Hospital Singapore, which is part of IHH’s network of 82 hospitals in 10 countries.
As a B2B2C company, Intellect focuses primarily on working with employers and industry partners though it still has a “sizable consumer-facing app,” CEO and co-founder Theodoric Chew told Tech in Asia.
Established in 2020, Intellect said it serves more than 3 million people from over 60 countries. The startup’s therapists and coaches are based in 20 countries, offering sessions ranging from telehealth coaching and clinical therapy to self-guided cognitive behavioral programs, among others.
The startup counts industry heavyweights such as Merck, Philips, Foodpanda, Singtel, and Shopee among its clients.
The mental health segment has seen similar tie-ups recently. Singapore-based Whitecoat has partnered with insurance major AIA to launch Think Well, a digital mental healthcare solutions platform. Ooca, a Thailand-based mental health telemedicine firm, sealed a series A round with Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS).

In July 2022, Intellect announced that its series A round hit US$20 million. The company said it was one of the biggest rounds raised by an Asian mental health firm.
