JD.com has opened its third self-operating warehouse and distribution center in California, which is likely to create over 300 jobs in the state.
The new facility will grow JD.com’s footprint to over 1.3 million square feet of warehousing space throughout the state.
Apart from its three warehouses in California, JD Logistics US operates two other warehouses in the country, one each in New Jersey and Georgia. The firm aims to implement two-day deliveries across the entire US in the future.
JD Logistics offers services such as last-mile delivery, after sales and maintenance, and cross-border transportation.
The firm is bringing the logistics capabilities of China to address supply chain challenges in North America, said Gordon Lu, general manager of JD Logistics US. “This includes providing greater flexibility, inventory optimization, and storage cost reduction to retailers,” he added.
JD Logistics operates over 1,500 warehouses in China and 90 facilities globally.
