TI4 to crown a new champion after Na’Vi and iG fall

The International 2014 (TI4) won’t have any returning champions and perhaps could be considered as The International of the Dota 2 giants’ fall. On the second day of the main event, Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) and Invictus Gaming (iG) have been knocked out of the tournament by Cloud 9 (C9) and LGD respectively. This is the first International without Na’Vi in the grand final.

Here are the brackets so far:

But while today was filled with upsets, it didn’t end on a sad, bitter note. Instead it ended with a rather explosive All-Star match between Team RotK and Team XBOCT. And we put emphasis on explosive because the match featured none other than bomb-planting, self-detonating Techies! The crowd’s reaction to the revelation makes you realize how much everyone’s really wanted this hero:

(See: Goblin Techies is coming to Dota 2, and here’s the video that proves it)

At the moment, there are no VoDs of the All-Star match and we’ll be sure to share it with you guys as soon as it’s up. You can also download the replay for free via in-game client, although we recommend a VoD because you don’t want to miss player expressions, intros, and awarding. Here are the team rosters and coaches for the All-Star match:

Going back to the TI4 main event, round two of the lower brackets were supposed to be today, but only the first games for each series were played. Vici Gaming (VG) and LGD are currently ahead with one win against their opponents C9 and Team DK. The remaining games of the series will be played tomorrow.

The lower bracket will be concluded tomorrow July 21 with matches starting at 12:00 midnight, GMT+8. Schedules and results can be found here. You can also find our TI4 coverage here.
