Gojek and Dat Bike have announced a partnership to deploy electric motorbikes for transportation, logistics, and food deliveries in Vietnam.

According to a statement from Gojek, it’s the first company in Vietnam to pilot Dat Bike’s electric vehicles (EVs).

Dat Bike will provide Gojek driver-partners with Weaver++ motorbikes to use for GoRide, GoFood, and GoSend orders. This helps drivers save up to 4x on fuel costs compared to traditional engine motorbikes, the ride-hailing major said.

Drivers can charge their Dat Bike battery for free at community charging points in Ho Chi Minh City. The charging time for rides of up to 100 kilometers is 20 minutes at Dat Bike’s fast-charging station or one hour at any household electrical outlet.

“In-line with GoTo Group’s ‘Three Zeros by 2023‘ commitment, our partnership with Dat Bike is an important step on this journey and supports our efforts in helping Gojek cut its emissions and transition its fleet to 100% EVs,” said Sumit Rathor, Gojek’s country general manager for Vietnam.

In Indonesia, the company formed a joint venture with energy firm TBS Energi Utama in 2021 to accelerate adoption of EVs there.
