Solarmax 2

When I think of interstellar combat word like action, explosion, death, giant-evil-alien-bastards spring to mind. Yet, Solarmax 2; a game which revolves around giant fleets fighting for whole solar systems, can best be described as serene, soothing and relaxing. In Solarmax 2 you take control of a fleet of blue starships who must colonise the other worlds in their solar systems. In order to do this you must defeat the opposing red fleet and colonise their planets.
As you colonise planets, your capacity for spaceships increases and your colonised planets build new spaceships at to replace those lost. Combat takes place whenever two opposing fleets meet over a single planet, and it works through simple mathematics. Solarmax 2 is a great experience, and a fun game that, while simple, becomes very challenging very quickly. Don’t expect an easy ride, but you will find it hard to get frustrated by those pretty levels, and prettier sounds.
