Are you looking for a new MOBA option that lets more of your friends in on the action at once? If you’re based in China (or willing to sneak your way onto Chinese servers) then Tencent may just have the answer for you in Zhong Shen Zhengba (众神争霸), its new 10v10 online battle arena game. The game, which doesn’t yet have an official English title (the Chinese means “a multitude of gods struggling for power”) will enter its first closed beta this Thursday, meaning a lucky few gamers will get a first look at whether it’s really going to be a contender in the mobile scene.
I have said before and will probably say again that China has too many MOBA games and adding more and more to the market probably isn’t going to end well. But Zhong Shen Zhengba‘s comparatively high player count means that it isn’t a direct copy of Western genre stalwarts Dota 2 and League of Legends. The game definitely offers something new, but whether or not that will make it more appealing remains to be seen.
We should be able to see quite a bit more of the game starting on Thursday, but for now interested MOBA gamers may have to content themselves with this trailer for Zhong Shen Zhengba. If you want to try for a code, you can get them via the game’s official site, but you’ll need to follow the game on Weibo, answer a few questions, own the kind of PC the developers are looking for, and get a bit lucky when it comes to the drawings.
