InMobi launches new solutions to help telcos monetize content
InMobi, a mobile marketing firm based in India, has launched a set of new solutions to help telecom operators monetize content and grow their businesses.
Called InMobi Telco, the new suite has already been adopted by three telecom providers in North America, Latin America, and the Middle East.

One of the highlights of the suite is Swish, a feature that makes it easier for users to explore apps, games, news, interactive and personalized content, and other services on their smartphones. Swish allows telcos to monetize engagement as well as attract and retain more customers, InMobi said.
The company also highlighted a Bain & Company report that suggests that a 5% increase in customer retention rate can boost mobile carriers’ profits by between 25% and 95%.
“Mobile operators and handset manufacturers are under pressure to deliver the best on-device experience and InMobi’s customized apps help increase user engagement with retention strategies that support growth and activate new revenue streams,” Chandrashekhar Vattikuti, the company’s senior vice president, said in a statement.
In March, InMobi announced a partnership with super app Gojek to drive advertising, consumer intelligence, and identity resolution for brands in Southeast Asia. A few months later in June, InMobi was reportedly in talks to acquire Indian social commerce firm Shop101.
In December 2020, InMobi’s lock-screen content platform Glance closed a US$145 million financing round, with investments from Google and existing investor Mithril Capital.
