After launching an English Twitter account, Japan Prime Minister’s office went the extra mile to launch a Facebook page to update the world on the post-earthquake situation. We learned about this initiative through the JPO’s Twitter account.
Within a day, the page has gathered more than 5,000 likes. The Facebook page is primarily used to update users with outlines of press conferences.
Twitter’s 140 characters limitation restricts long updates. The Facebook page fills up the gap while Twitter shares the links to more people.
