Square Enix launched a teaser page yesterday that announced it is teaming up with mobile developer gloops on a secret project that seems to be related to Final Fantasy VIII (FF8). No information as to what this project is, but the teaser page does make it clear that something is coming January 8, 2014.
The only other bit of info the teaser page gives us is simply one sentence in Japanese. It reads, “You will become a prisoner to this game.”
I think we can probably assume that Square Enix and gloops are taking FF8 to mobile devices, but we will have to wait a week to find out. If this teaser’s got you itching to replay the game, remember FF8 was recently released on Steam, so be sure to check that out.
