Wildstar settlers better get ready for the plague and chest-bursting nightmares as the Strain Ultra Drop update goes live later this month

Are you ready to peer into the darkness that lurks beneath the mysterious planet Nexus? Because that’s what you’re going to be doing in Wildstar’s first expansion, which will be coming to us on the week of June 30th.

The Strain Ultra Drop content update opens up Blighthaven, a whole new zone which includes Cankertube Swamp and the Globellum, and it’s gonna be nasty, if this video is anything to go by:

Expect disease, mutation, and whole host of grim-looking nasties to meet you in Blighthaven, along with a stack of new disease-themed loot. If that doesn’t perk your interest then maybe the promise of a new dungeon (creepily named the Nursery), solo quests and a new tower-defence game mode, Guardians of the Grove, will.

As well as exploring new areas, you will also be able to take a tour of some areas ravaged by the deadly Strain. Remember the Northern Wilds? Well they are now the Northern Wastes. I feel bad for the Yetis. And now I’m scared of Rowsdowsers
