Admittedly, itโs been very tough for me. Last year, I quit my very successful job as a telecom consultant and started my own tech startup. So, what are the challenges? I met with two big ones:
- Cashflow: First of all, of course, the regular cashflow which suddenly vanishes really hurts. This part is probably universal regardless where you are from.
- Parents: Since the day I declared that I would be leaving my job my parents got very frustrated. They just canโt seem to comprehend how a sane individual like me can quit such a good job! I donโt complain much because for them itโs not always easy to grasp the idea or to foresee the potential of the thing I was doing. But itโs been tough dealing with them.
Since I studied engineering I must do some engineering job. Or higher study on engineering. Otherwise my parents feel ashamed to tell about their sonโs profession! Indeed thatโs exactly what my mom told me. Everyday my father calls me to know about my business and try to find out whether I have changed my mind to start a job again. He is still very hopeful that soon I will find out about the mistake I made and return to my old profession.
