This weekend just gone was incredibly interesting. I found myself super motivated to get things done but then I was also super distracted with so many ideas to go around.
The age old debate of whether being a solo founder is good or not is going to keep going on and I plan to write an article of my experiences in the near future. One thing though, it’s not like you choose it. I thought starting something was all about execution and getting it done quickly… I did this and before I knew it I was a solo founder.
Either ways, the past weekend has seen a ton of ideas in my mind for interesting things. Each of these ideas probably have some potential and writing down ideas is never a bad thing but when you have a startup you need to focus and stop with the distractions. I wish I learnt this on Friday before registering a domain and half building up a new business concept. Nevertheless, just a few hours were wasted and I hope that this will act as a learning curve for me to stay focused.
It is often easy to forget that actually doing something for yourself in the startup sense is amazingly difficult. The stats on startups which fail are staggering and not in the good sense. There are really bad jobs that nobody enjoys that need to be done to keep you continuing on the road to success and I guess half of the distraction is to try and delay these tasks.
Bringing everything back to the main goal/ target/ aim is helpful in these moments. Hopefully you are working on something that you love doing. Working on it full time should be awesome, you don’t have to take crap from anyone else and you more or less can do what you want. That is motivation enough. New week. New goals, let’s kick ass!
