With the data science scene in Asia heating up and an increasing interest in the field, this week, we’ve rounded up the best data science-related articles on Tech in Asia to get you started.

First off, what is this data science thing all about? We could give a dictionary definition, but few could define it as succinctly and comprehensively as Thia Kai Xin, data scientist at Lazada and co-founder of DataScience SG. Consider this: according to Tech in Asia’s Salary Insights, the average data scientist in Singapore pockets a median pay of S$4.9k/month, a cool thousand more than the median pay of a web developer at S$3.9k/month. What a time to be alive (as a data scientist)!
