Workato opens APAC HQ in Singapore as part of $220m regional push

Workato, a US-based enterprise automation firm, has opened its regional headquarters and first digital automation hub in Singapore. This is part of the company’s plan to roll out S$300 million (US$220 million) in investments in the Asia-Pacific region over the next three years.

The hub will serve as Workato’s headquarters for Asia Pacific that will house its workforce in the region – which the company expects to grow by more than 5x by 2025. The space will be used for automation training to help businesses in Singapore and the region.

Singapore is seen as a strategic regional hub for capital and tech asset flows, says Allan Teng, founder and managing director of Workato Asia Pacific and Japan. He added that automation and the use of tech to help workers will support business innovation and increase productivity.

Workato also signed partnerships with three post-secondary schools in Singapore to train students and mid-career professionals in tech and automation.

The company aims to create over 700 new jobs over the next three years. It raised US$200 million in series E funding last year.
