SoftBank has committed US$64.6 billion to OpenAI.

SoftBank recently raised 1 trillion yen (US$6.45 billion) through a retail bond sale in Japan.

The drop was SoftBank’s biggest since late June and left the stock about 30% below its June peak.

Around 20 banks committed to SoftBank’s two-year financing facility.

The company has not said how long the pause will last or how many users are signing up each day.

The companies said the AI-native scheduler adjusts downlink transmission settings in real time inside the radio access network, or RAN.

The startup was founded in 2022 as a spinout from ETH Zurich.

The report said the borrower may need to post cash or repay the loan early if the value of OpenAI’s preferred shares drops sharply.

In Japan, SoftBank Group, a Tokyo-based investment conglomerate that owns a majority stake in chip designer Arm Holdings, jumped more than 10%.

The backing would help OpenAI lease a 10-gigawatt facility being developed by SoftBank’s energy subsidiary, SB Energy.
