TackThis, a Singapore-based startup that focuses on a ubiquitious ecommerce solution, has partnered with Paypal to power a donation drive for Singapore’s National Day 2012. This partnership marks a step forward for TackThis as its platform will potentially be used by a pretty significant part of Singapore’s population. The reason to choose TackThis is pretty straightforward. The system is simple enough to use as I last reviewed during its beta launch last year.
The folks are TackThis hope that this gets covered not purely for publicity, but because they hope more people can step up and do their part in this donation drive. As a Singaporean, I confess I feel compelled to do so as well.
The donation drive is part of “Building a Loving SG” program which aims to celebrate National Day with close to 200,000 LEGO bricks and minifigures. Anyone can participate with S$5 where you will receive a pair of self-customized LEGO minifigures. All proceeds will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. Plus, you will be able to place your design at the Marina Bay LEGO Floating Platform. Though I do have doubts if people will be able to actually see them!
TackThis has supported this drive pretty strongly by providing a ubiquitous commerce platform. Co-founder Vincent Lau explained that the public can access the store via QR code, iOS, Android, websites (with responsive design), and also on Facebook. Each one of these channels will lead to the store with a similar e-shopping experience, thanks to TackThis simple embed and customizable e-store.
