In brief: Garena, PUBG release ‘lite’ version of the online multiplayer game

Garena and PUBG Corporation have announced that they’re joining forces to offer PUBG Lite in five countries across Southeast Asia. From mid-February, the game will be available for download in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore through the Garena platform, as well as on the official PUBG Lite website. It is also now available in Thailand.

PUBG Lite is an adaptation of the original PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. The new version is designed to open up the PUBG experience to players in Southeast Asia who couldn’t access the game because of high PC specifications.

PUBG Lite will be free to play through Garena’s and PUBG’s platforms. It will be available for pre-download on February 13, with the official beta test launching on February 14.
