It’s game over for the Pirate Bay founders. Of the trio – Peter Sunde, Gottfrid Svartholm, and Fredrik Neij – Sunde was arrested earlier this year on a farm in Sweden, Svartholm was recently sentenced to three and a half years in prison, while the latter was caught today attempting to cross the border from Laos into Thailand, according to Thai police.
Neij had taken refuge in Laos after being convicted of contributing to copyright infringement by a Swedish court in 2009. According to Daily Mail Online, Neij and his family have traveled to Thailand about 30 times since his passport was revoked by the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok in 2012.
Earlier today, though, his luck ran out when he was arrested at the border in Nong Khai by the local police, according to Associated Press. The gleeful Thai police reportedly made a big fuss out of the achievement, organizing a press conference and posing with Neij for photos.
