Singapore: Samsung ties up with Topman to push the Galaxy S5 and Game Pad

Samsung is pushing its new Galaxy S5 phone and Game Pad into the Singapore market in the most surprising way. It has teamed up with clothing brand Topman and set up a small booth in the corner of the Topman Ion Orchard store in Singapore that shows off its new products.

This booth has both the Galaxy S5 and Game Pads for you to fiddle with. But better than that are the custom-built cabinets that allow you to play King of Fighters 97 and Samurai Showdown 2 off the Samsung phones attached to them.

This “Play Zone” has a competition for the next three weekends where the last player standing each week gets to walk away with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE phone and Samsung Game Pad, as well as a Topman gift card worth S$150. The contest is supposed to run over both Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. daily, with no further contest rules.

This coming weekend’s festivities are expected to be pretty exciting, since local radio deejays The Muttons are coming down to host the event. We’re reaching out to Samsung for more information, but in the meantime, you can head to the store to get some practice in; those Game Pads aren’t going to make things easy.
