Southeast Asia gets its own division in the next two Starladder seasons
The International 2014 (TI4) hasn’t kicked off in Seattle yet, but we already have something to look forward to after it ends. The Starladder series will be returning for its tenth and eleventh seasons in August and November respectively, with an additional division for Southeast Asia. Starladder X and XI will now have Dota 2 teams from the world’s four major Dota regions — Europe, America, China, and Southeast Asia.
The format will be the same as last year with qualifiers for each region to determine who will be heading to the LAN finals in the Cyberarena in Kiev, Ukraine. There will be four teams from Europe, two teams from China, and one team each from America and Southeast Asia. Season X will be played from August to October 2014 while Season XI will be played from November 2014 to January 2015.
Starladder IX was the first of the tournament series to include Asian teams in the LAN finals. It was won by China’s Team DK with Invictus Gaming (iG) finishing fourth and Korean MVP.Phoenix at the bottom two with Russian team RoX.KiS.
