Twitter reportedly shuts two offices in India

Twitter has closed its New Delhi and Mumbai offices in India and asked staff to work from home, leaving the microblogging platform with only one office in Bengaluru, Bloomberg reported.

The Bengaluru office houses engineering staff, who mostly report directly to the US offices and are not part of the local team in India.

Meanwhile, CNBC reported that only three employees remain in the company’s India team.

This comes after the Elon Musk-led company laid off around 90% of its over 200 employees in the country in late 2022, right after Musk took over Twitter in a US$44 billion deal.

Ever since Musk took over, Twitter has let go of thousands of employees around the world to improve the social media giant’s financial health.
