SoftBank-backed Whatfix acquires Indian learning management platform

SoftBank-backed software-as-a-service startup Whatfix has acquired Nittio Learn, an India-based learning management system. The company did not reveal the size of the deal.

By acquiring Nittio Learn, Whatfix will enhance its application training capabilities by making learning more personalized, adaptive, and interactive, it said.

Whatfix, which helps enterprises accelerate the adoption of software through its Digital Adoption Platform, claims to increase employee productivity by 35%. The company also said its technology reduces training time and costs by 60% and increases application data accuracy by 20%.

It has offices in San Jose, San Francisco, London, Melbourne, Sydney, and Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Nittio Learn’s toolset includes additional content options, assessment capabilities, and training course allocation, which complement Whatfix’s suite of offerings, said the company. As part of the acquisition, Nittio Learn co-founders Gagandeep Singh Josan and Aravindan Rs, along with its team, have joined Whatfix.

According to Whatfix, it has achieved an average quarterly growth of 100% year over year for the past two consecutive quarters.

“Mergers and acquisitions are an important part of our strategy, and we have accordingly chalked out spaces where we are looking to acquire and also set aside budgets for it. We are also building a corporate development team focused on mergers and acquisitions,” Whatfix co-founder and CEO Khadim Batti told Tech in Asia.

In June, Whatfix raised US$90 million as part of its series D funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, taking its valuation to US$600 million.

“With this funding we will keep fueling our plans to continue growing our position in the US market as well as accelerate global expansion into new markets such as Asia Pacific including Singapore, Japan, Australia, and Europe,” said Batti.

Whatfix has raised US$139.8 million to date.
