Gree Ventures rebrands to Strive, announces $130m first close for third fund
Venture capital firm Gree Ventures has completed a first close of US$130 million for its third fund, which will target seed-stage investments in business-to-business startups. It will complete a final close by the end of the year, the firm said in a statement.
Gree Ventures is also changing its name to Strive.

Government-backed SME Support Japan, social media company Gree Inc., and members of the Mizuho Financial Group including Mizuho Bank and Mizuho Capital were the major investors in the fund named Strive III.
According to a statement, the fund has already invested in Indian edtech startup ClassPlus and Tokyo-based TrustDock, which provides an application programming interface for know-your-customer services.
Strive said it’s also in talks with limited partners outside of Japan for investments in Southeast Asia and India.
