A world in your hands — the fourth annual Philippine Game Development Festival

If you love games then chances are, you probably want to make a game of your own. That’s where all passionate game developers start, right? Now if you’re not sure how to make that first step then perhaps you might want to head over to the fourth Philippine Game Development Festival (PGDF) this October 25-26 at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Campus, Malate, Metro Manila, Philippines.

PGDF is an event hosted and organized by the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and is the biggest annual event for the Philippine game development industry. This year’s PGDF is themed “A world in your hands”, calling on developers to make a mark for the Philippines through innovative, world-class games by improving their skills and creativity. The festival aims to help build and improve the Philippine game development industry by bringing together developers from all over the Philippines to showcase their work, inviting both local and foreign speakers for their talks, and encouraging students to engage in game development along with other professionals and enthusiasts.

According to GDAP President Alvin Juban,

We have what it takes to be a strong key player when it comes to not just providing game development services to clients, but also in coming up with strong IPs. All that’s needed is for us to stir the interest further, get everyone on the same place discussing ways to improve, collaborate, and help one another. We’ll put the experts, professionals, students, publishers, investors, and key government officials on the same room talking. I’m curious about what happens after that. With the recent successes of Pinoy developers in the international scene, everyone seems to be pretty hyped up. Now is certainly the time, and we’re just happy to be part of it all.

PGDF is open to students, professionals, educators, businesses, and enthusiasts alike. Interested attendees may register online and have four different access types to choose from with different rates.
