Founded in 2017 by former Xendit business development executive Alam Akbar, Kasual allows users to pick the fit, cut, and size of their pants. Through its in-house garment manufacturing workflow, the pants can be delivered to users in less than five days.
The company claims that it is the first in Indonesia that combines the menโs pants, personal customization, and instant commerce segments.
To date, Kasual has over 80,000 users and can deliver over 3,000 pairs of trousers every month. In 2020, amid the pandemic, the company said its revenue shot up 3x compared to 2019.
The D2C brand plans to use the fresh funds to increase daily orders by 10x and process more than 5,000 items per day soon. It also looks to release more product categories and leverage new technology, such as augmented reality (AR) size measurements.
Kasual currently has 30 core teams and 25 employees in its garment manufacturing crew. It has hired talent from prominent tech companies such as Amazon, eBay, and Blibli, as well as fashion companies like Ralph Lauren.
